Epiphone Unveils the Alex Lifeson 1976 ES-355 Reissue
Rush fans and guitar enthusiasts alike have a new reason to celebrate. Epiphone has officially unveiled the Alex Lifeson 1976 ES-355, bringing one of rock's most iconic instruments to a wider audience than ever before.
Part of the Inspired by Gibson Custom collection, this stunning reissue pays tribute to Lifeson's legendary "Whitey" ES-355, the guitar that became a cornerstone of his sound across countless Rush recordings and tours. Finished in classic Alpine White and loaded with vintage-inspired appointments, the model captures the look, feel, and spirit of the original 1976 instrument that helped define progressive rock guitar.
Featured specifications include a 5-ply maple/poplar semi-hollow body with a solid maple centreblock, 3-piece maple neck with a '70s volute, and a slim "C" neck profile. The end of the neck sports the iconic Gibson "open book" headstock like the rest of the models in the Inspired by Gibson Custom family. Loaded with Gibson USA T-Type humbucker pickups, the model also includes a mono Varitone switch for additional tonal options. Finished with gold hardware, including a harmonica-style Tune-O-Matic bridge and pickup covers, the result is a guitar that delivers the elegant aesthetics and versatile tones that made the ES-355 a favourite for one of Canada's most influential guitarists.
Whether you're chasing Alex's unmistakable tones or simply looking for a premium semi-hollow guitar with serious pedigree, the Epiphone Alex Lifeson 1976 ES-355 is sure to be one of the most exciting signature releases of the year.
