A modern Les Paul Standard for today’s players

Gibson Custom is world-renowned for its Historic Reissue models and Murphy Lab aging, but not everyone is looking for a vintage reissue. For players seeking something a bit more modern, Gibson Custom is proud to introduce the new Les Paul™ Standard model. It’s the perfect choice for players seeking a blend of modern features and legendary Gibson Custom handcrafted quality. While rooted in tradition, this model is designed for contemporary musicians. 

The Les Paul Standard features a mahogany body with nine-hole weight relief, making it lighter and more comfortable to play for hours. The lightly figured AA maple cap adds brightness to the warm midrange from the mahogany, delivering the classic Les Paul tone that has been the Standard since the 1950s. The top is framed by single ply binding, as you would expect, but here it is white rather than the usual cream. The mahogany neck features a comfortable Medium "C" profile carve that strikes the perfect balance between too thin and too big. It is fitted with a one-piece rosewood fretboard. Clean white binding also appears on the fretboard, which is also equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and adorned with cellulose trapezoid inlays. 

The headstock is equipped with a nylon nut and Kluson® single-line, single-ring tuners, ensuring stable tuning. The strings pass over a no-wire ABR-1 bridge that delivers full adjustability for action height and individual string intonation, and anchor solidly to a lightweight Stop Bar tailpiece. The pickguard continues the clean white plastics theme seen on the binding, and the jack plate is also white. A pair of Burstbucker™ humbucking pickups powers the Gibson Custom Les Paul Standard, with a Burstbucker 2 in the neck perfectly matched up with a slightly hotter Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position. These are both mounted in white mounting rings and hand-wired to individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, featuring audio-taper CTS® potentiometers. The pots are capped with gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers. A Switchcraft® three-way toggle switch selects either or both pickups, and a Switchcraft output jack is also fitted.  

Finished in your choice of full-gloss Translucent Amber or Translucent Blue and packed in a Custom Shop hardshell case to ensure safe storage and transport, this is the ideal Les Paul for players who want a glossy, beautiful, brand-new Les Paul Standard to call their own.
