Originally founded in 1890, Squier specialized solely in manufacturing violins before eventually venturing into building guitars in the 1930s. In 1965, Squier was acquired by the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, uniting two powerhouse names in guitar making. This fateful alliance marked the beginning of Squier’s foray into mass-producing high-quality, affordable electric guitars and basses. To this day, Squier has stayed true to the Fender philosophy that everyone deserves access to quality musical instruments, regardless of skill level or budget.
